About This Pipe
The '32' shape is a very old Stanwell shape. It was redesigned along the way (in the 1990s, I think) by Tom Eltang, though. I don't have one of the old versions to compare side by side here (This is a recent production Stanwell), but this shape does bear a bunch of Eltang stylistic elements, from the way the shank to bowl transition is handled to the subtle forward cant of the bulldog bowl. A strikingly handsome shape in a beautiful stain (and with some good grain!) regardless.
