About This Pipe
Introduced in 1930, The Dunhill Root Briar has maintained a loyal following. Indeed, I have met collectors who's sole focus of their collection is the venerable line. The stain is not the easiest medium to work within. With the right piece of briar, a ton of grain is coaxed out, but with the wrong piece, this stain would also highlight the flaws. This half bent billiard presents the Brit classic grain that is rather straight all around. The shape is perfect (naturally, it is a Dunhill, after all). This particular piece is mounted with vulcanite - something not often seen. Yes, Virginia, it is a military mount!
