About This Pipe
This is a much loved Tsuge shape and, at its core, is influenced by Lars Ivarsson's work. The slightly forward canted tulip shaped bowl is a shape that Lars is famous for, though this one shows some compression along the vertical axis (yet another example of how Tsuge continues to play, to reinvent). The shank, while it does not flare, does maintain the oval shape that is associated with the classic. The grain is heavenly; straight grain around the pipe, only broken by two whorls, one on each side.
