About This Pipe
While floral in inspiration, Alex Florov shapes this one with decidedly archtictural eye, the only hint of asymmetry happening on the rim, and there, the touches are deft and subtle. The prow on the front of the bowl is a cross cut grain and, as we move back into the channels, a birdseye appears. The back of the bowl is overwhelmingly birdseye. The bit is hand carved, elongated, and painfully beautiful.
