About This Pipe
There are times that American craftsman Tim West does a pipe that really amazes me. While this pipe might not amaze, it definitely has me thinking. The bowl is a nicely paneled volcano and the symmetry of the oppositional panels is quite superb. While I probably wouldn't put this exact pipe up for a "Grain of the Year" award, the grain displayed on the bowl surfaces is generally good. There is just something about this pipe though, I can't quite put my finger on it but it does have an overarching coolness about it.
