Smooth Blowfish Tobacco Pipe

Jeff went for a daring and innovative reinterpretation on the Lars blowfish and scores big! From the top view, the fugu's signature pugnacious arc, usually found primarily in the shank line, would have come off as too subtle, too tame. but then Jeff curved the bit, and the effect is stunning. Flipping to the view from the underside, I am not sure I have ever encountered a more intriguing compositional line (delightfully emphasized by a subtle ridge that runs near right to far left). In the Ivarsson classic, the line established on the side of the shank would allude to the central line, but remain on the same side all the way to the rim. In essence, the Ivarsson ridge gently "cups" the pipe's center line, and the axis is seen within. In a bold move, Jeff has the ridge line traverse the underside, terminating on the opposite side of the rim, establishing the axis by way of counter point. Son of a gun. it works, and works beautifully. As great as the grain of this pipe appears in the pictures, this one has to be held to be believed.
