About This Pipe
This tomato shape has become a mainstay for Paolo Becker over the past few years. The thin shank and long stem contrast with the visually heavy, squat shaped bowl. The superb straight grain radiates out from birdseye at the bottom center of the bowl, covering the sides and running the length of the shank. The area immediately around the rim also sports excellent birdseye as that straight and flame grain terminates. The warm brown stain highlights the grain nicely, but still complements the subdued softness of the shape.
