About This Pipe
This piece by Benni Jorgensen is wonderfully organic and embodies the phrase "functional art". For about two hundred and seventy degrees, the bowl comes off as a modified acorn, then the front of the bowl takes on another direction entirely. The front almost looks like a take on Kent Rasmussen's wave, complete with curling front lip, and what grain that wave possesses! The raw plateau of the mount helps to emphasize the "wild" elements of the composition.
