About This Pipe
The depth and grain of this Old Antiquari is quite different than its brethren in a couple of respects. First, while most Old Antiquari wear a light to medium-light sandblast, the depth of grain on this billiard approaches the geological in places (check out the small, hurricane like vortex on the right lower juncture of the shank and bowl). Second, most Antiquari don't follow what is usually considered a classic British grain pattern (cross in the front and back, birdseye on the sides) and this one comes pretty close to doing so. Size wise, you would be in the ballpark with a large Dunhill Group 4 to a smaller Group 5 and personally I find the shape downright charming.
