About This Pipe

Over it's history, Dunhill has been the source of a myriad of limited edition series that have run the gamut from exulting to humorous, and from the enticingly attractive, to the just plain bazaar. This Eight Ball Limited Edition, which is a fine representation of the fun/whimsical side of Dunhill, is part of a new series that is "A Celebration of Gamesmanship". The total production is limited to a mere 200 sets, equally divided between the Shell Briar and the Dress finish. This Shell Briar version is numbered an enticingly low '3/100', adding that not uncertain attraction of owning one of the first three that were created of a highly limited run. Unwrapping your new treasure from a velveteen protective cloth , you will discover a book style presentation box. Within lies a unique, non-standard shape that mimics the form of an eight-ball, to a smaller perfection, complete with a sterling military mount, and a cumberland bit that is fashioned to look like a pool cue! On the opposite side of a miniature eight-ball and cue ball (which act as holders), is one of the most inspired tampers that I have seen from the venerable London firm; a miniature take of a billiard rake/bridge, complete with its iconic sterling silver cross. Naturally, each set is accompanied by its numbered and hand-signed limited edition certificate. No, this is not a type of common template for a limited edition. Then again, collectors haven't flocked to Dunhill for well over a century, in search of the commonplace, have they?
