As much as we try to a pipe justice with our photography, for something like this Tom Eltang piece, I think you just have to actually hold it in your hands to get a proper appreciation of the combination of exquisite briar and incredibly skill that goes into creating such thing. The briar is, of course, gorgeous, its strongest point being the smoky, pebbled birdseye packed together across the full length and breadth of the design's smoothly curved underside. Then comes the skill of the hand which shaped it, producing lines which are utterly, perfectly clean, flowing sleek and easy from rim to bit.
