About This Pipe
A fine rendition of one of the most widely recognized Danish freehand forms, this bamboo-stemmed Blowfish displays all the right elements of organic asymmetry, yet refined balance, which marks the best of the breed. And while he was at it, Heding pulled off quite a beautiful grain arrangement, too, with excellent cross-grain running in a continuous band from underside through to the top of the shank, and a tight, complex birdseye packing the left flank, contrasted by a freckling on the other - the latter, sparser pattern setting up an interesting contrast and more conspicuously displaying the birdseye's dark centers.
