While the shaping is distinctly neoclassical, with its extra-generous bowl and chamber proportions, and the rustication is likewise very Italian as well, the staining of this briar, in a dark, reserved black-and-walnut, strikes me as more along the lines of the English traditions. This isn't particularly surprising, though, as L'Anatra is quite flexible stylistically, commonly rendering designs with Italian, classical English, and even Danish influences apparent.
