Sandblasted Acorn with Bamboo Tobacco Pipe

Nowadays, opening one of Jeff's beautiful presentation boxes to find a world class pipe is becoming as much of a given as a Kobe Bryant layup (Sorry about the Kobe ref Jeff, it's not like San Diego has a team, dude). Be the aspect of comparison the shape, the grain, the blast or the superb dual stain, this bowl does not have a great deal of competition out there. The three knuckles of bamboo have a very slight left to right travel (from the smoker's perspective) when you concentrate on just that aspect, and yet that arc seemed to disappear from the totality. Finally it hit me that Jeff created just the right bias within the bowl to visually counter what was happening in the ferrule. Mies Van der Rohe was right. "God is in the details".
