About This Pipe
I've often noted that L'Anatra has a tendency towards lines of with a Danish character, one of the elements which lends their briars a noticeable uniqueness amongst the Italian school. Here we see this at play, even in an otherwise seemingly simple straight Apple of Italian-neoclassical proportions. It's the smooth upward lift of the heel, and the slightly elongated, seamless transition I speak, of course - relatively subtle elements compared to the fulsome bowl and sturdy, arrow-straight shank and stem, but elements nonetheless which have a big effect on the briar's profile.
