About This Pipe
The '80s' is Peterson's classic bent bulldog shape and one of the most popular shapes in their lineup. For reasons I haven't quite figured out, I'm particularly taken by Peterson shapes with square and diamond shanks. Perhaps it's just that the square shanks pair particularly well with the heavy-lined masculinity that permeates Peterson's shaping aesthetic. For the 2010 St. Patrick's Day pipes, Peterson paired a dark contrast stain (similar to that on the Aran) with a nickel band emblazoned with 'St. Patrick's Day 2010'.
