About This Pipe
We just don't see enough of the estimable '338' shape, but it's a great example of Peterson's overarching shape aesthetic. The width of the shank plays the perfect foil to the bowl, balancing that visual weight and giving the overall composition a muscularity and masculinity that is particularly impressive given that it really isn't that large a shape. It's presented here with the beautiful, elegant red stain of the Killarney finish, complemented by the twin nickel rings at the end of the shank.
