About This Pipe

This edition of the famed Peterson Sherlock Holmes pipes presents four more novel designs named after characters who appear in the famed detective's adventures. This "Gregson", a high-rimmed, deep-chambered, rather whimsical-looking bent Billiard with a wonderfully natural feel in hand, draws its title from Inspector Gregson, who appears beside Inspector LeStrade in the very first of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes novels: A Study in Scarlet. It was here that we were first introduced to Holmes and Watson both, as the latter, having recently retired from the Army due to an injury suffered in the Anglo-Afghan War and now looking for lodgings, is recommended to seek out Holmes by an an old Army buddy and mutual acquaintance, who knows the freelance detective is himself looking for someone to split rent with. Upon meeting, Holmes and Watson assess their suitability as roommates by each making lists of their respective faults and annoying habits - and when nothing either finds too scandalous is found, take up residence at the now famous 221B Baker Street.
