About This Pipe
American carver Brad Pohlmann is a wizard with the sandblaster. When it was appropriate to the composition, I have seen him create deeper, almost "Ashton" like troughs through the softer grain. He is also brilliant in that he fully understands when a shape calls for a finer blast (a la Hans "Former" Nielsen). Working with a perfect sphere of a bowl, Brad etches out a grain that is as fine as spring rain, and the effect, much like the rest of the pipe, is quiet, harmonious, and beautiful. Speaking of "quiet" and "beautiful", take a peek at that horn at the mount. Is there any wonder why there is so much buzz about Brad Pohlmann?
