About This Pipe
I'll freely admit to playing favorites when it comes to Radice's Rubino smooth finish; a deep burgundy infused with a "hotter" glow of a brighter red. (In acrylic painting this would be done by putting down multiple, very thin glazes of water-thinned pure red over the darker shade - I couldn't say how they do it when staining briar.) Where the Rubino really comes into its own is when applied to fuller, curvier shapes like this Classic-series bent dublin, giving the composition an unmistakably voluptuous presence.
