About This Pipe
By creating a rim that features a subtle ellipses, with the foci at 1:30 and 7:30, and then allowing those opposing points to spill over the edge to become the points of demarcation for the panels on the body, Randy started a process that features astounding differing perspectives within a single composition.The left profile reveals the shape of some of the avant garde shields that are beginning to come into vogue, but the view from the upper left rearward oblique suggests a sinewy, organic form wrapping a conventional body. The differences between the front and right views might be even more amazing. While you are musing at the scenery, it never hurts to have some fine grain to look at, and this pipe delivers a lot of grain-candy as well.
