About This Pipe
Though the lone billiard in this week's batch of Wileys, this pipe would likely have stood out even if it had been nestled amongst a dozen. The bowl is visually weighted very low, only the lack of sufficient taper keeps it from straying over the often nebulous borders of brandyland, and the shank is suitably broadened, making for a much more natural transition. The grain pattern is of a rather two-sided variety, bearing fine, wavering strands on the left flank and a much more fiery, intermittent pattern on the right, while faint birdseye is found on both the rim and the underside.
