About This Pipe
While the conspicuous channel which arcs across this Freehand design lends the bowl itself a rather sculptural look, the manner in which it influences the shaping of the rim if anything lends more strength to the naturalistic, floral look already created there by the presence of plateau and a prominent, gestural flaring. Throw in plenty of flame grain, and the result is a complex and beautiful design by Wiley.
