About This Pipe
A double ridge defines the left side of the shank on this elegantly shaped bent dublin-horn. The rest of the piece is fairly conventional, but those two lines, the top one being carried into the bowl and the bottom one carried all the way to the rim, tie the composition together, tethering the stem to the rim, creating a unified whole from the constituent parts. The grain is excellent, with superb straight grain on the left side of the bowl and good flame grain on the right side. The grain terminates into some excellent birdseye on the rim. A lovely composition, beautifully stained and finished.
