About This Pipe

Sixten Ivarsson, the inventor of the blowfish shape maintained that the center bevel of the composition had to travel an unflinching, non deviating path on its journey around the bowl. While Toku-san holds his mentor in extremely high regard, during the past few years he has taken that center bevel place that previous artists never attempted, and has done so with breathtaking results. The "center" of this pipe, while on the shank, is a ridge and that ridge then flares dramatically as it hits the bowl, tilting to a near 45 degree angle on its continued travels. The right edge of the bevel is soft, yielding, while the left side helps form a wicked, knife like edge. The cross cut grain and birdseye are magnificent, and the placement of the same is exactly where the classics would dictate.
