About This Pipe
In some ways, rusticating a pipe is a lot like choosing power ball numbers, everyone has their own way of doing it. Danish master Poul Winslow creates a distinct, emphatic layering between that which is smooth and that which is rusticated. It is almost as if the smooth is cut, and that layer peeled back to reveal a rustication underneath. This method is more time consuming than most but, at least to me, holds a great deal more fascination than simply smacking an area with nails.
