Sutliff - Duke Albert
Nice blend, but not PA
My first impression of this blend was a mild but definite note of vanilla marking this as a light aromatic. This came through in the taste as well. Overall, Duke Albert is a good, mild smoke; however, it does not smell or taste much like Prince Albert. I have smoked PA from pouches and from the old metal cans that gave rise to the old joke, so I am very familiar with its flavor and aroma. Original PA was, and presumably still is, not an aromatic, rather, it was a heavily cased burley with a flavor that always reminded me of Keebler Deluxe Grahams. Duke Albert makes for a great first bowl of the day. It is satisfying without delivering a nicotine knock-out punch. It is easy on the tongue and friendly to the nose, so I will order it again when I run out. If I really want PA, though, I will have to order that by name.
