Cornell & Diehl - Old Joe Krantz Blue Label
Found my Codger blend!
After going through the codger blends for a couple of months, I found that Granger and Half and Half were my faves. When I had an ounce of each left I blended them together and loved the result. I was about to order more of each, blend them and call my codger search complete. Then I decided to try OJK Blue and I’m glad I did. It’s even better than the Granger/Half and Half blend. It has the slight sweetness and baking spice aspect of the Half and Half as well as the smooth, rich nuttiness of the burley in the Granger. But as I say, it’s even better…richer and smoother. It lights easily and burns fairly slowly. In my big Danish freehand it smokes an hour and 20 minutes and is absolutely perfect with a nice French Roast coffee. For me, this is the ultimate dodger blend.
Molina - Barasso Sandblasted Black (68) (9mm)
Beautiful in both performance and looks
This pipe looks even better in your hand than in the pictures. And it smokes beautifully. I have a big Danish freehand, a Joeby Dansk …and several MM cobs. It smokes just as well as the cobs, which says something, and very close to the Danish freehand….it’s worth every penny of its very reasonable price. Blends like Chelsea Morning and Union Square are especially nice in this pipe. And each smoke well over an hour. I’ll be getting another of this line.

Classic OTC Blends: Half and Half First Impressions- ► Excellent review! I tried pipe smoking on the basis of saving a bit of money compared to my Cuban cigar habit while my daughter is away at an expensive college. A friend suggested a MM cob pipe and either some Half and Half or Prince Albert. On a whim I chose Half and Half and I was gobsmacked at how much I liked it in the cob. Not quite as enjoyable a smoking experience as a Montecristo No. 2, but it was surprisingly close. And come on, I can have over 30 bowls for the price of ONE Monty, so mission accomplished. I’ve tried a bunch of different tobaccos now in both briar and cob pipes and Half and Half is still near the top of my list.
