Cornell & Diehl - Firebird Flake 2oz
An exotic dancer, this one.
This tobacco performs some dance moves and they’re all alluring. Her seductive tin note is an irresistible blend of charred raisins, figs, and spiced plums. She starts dancing upon first light. An elegant pirouette betwixt the dark fire and the orientals, almost too much but the Virginia steps in with a waltz of sweetness that ties it all together. This play of spiced plums, charred potpourri, and sweet hay/grass becomes the tango they dance among each other and what a dance it is! Anytime I thought the Virginias were leading, the dark fire would push it a side and grace me with its notes, only to be cut short with the perfume of the orientals that seemed to give lead back to the sweetness of the Virginia. It’s the most “lively” tobacco I’ve had. Fire it up gents and let little miss Firebird do her thing! Well done.

Drucquer & Sons - Levant Mixture 100g
Call this blend Gina Davis, cause it’s in a league of its own.
Just got into smoking maybe 6 months ago and I’ve only had maybe 15-20 different English blends, this isn’t like any other one I’ve had. First off, The smoke damn near has viscosity. It’s thick, pillowy, creamy, and dare I say sensual? The taste is divine. I have a hard time picking out a lot of nuance and instead consistently taste the blend as a whole. It’s the weirdest part about the blend. Most English I’ve had I can isolate a lot of the tobaccos. Not this one. It’s a fully combined smoke. You get all the nuances of each tobacco balled up into one glorious note that hangs and lingers. The retrohale is something else too. Almost like motor oil flowers. I love it. I feel like a lot of English blends fist fight over which tobacco should be driving the bus, meanwhile the Levant cruises alongside the bus in a Bentley, waves, and vrooms off into the sunset. Get this tobacco. It’s an experience.
