Peterson Halloween 2024

The legendary Irish marque's annual Halloween tradition continues this year with the same palette and finishes as their beloved Dracula series, featuring black-and-red-swirled acrylic Fishtail stems and a jet-black finish as dark as the night on All Hallows' Eve. Each haunting piece is elongated in a demi-Churchwarden style.

Rattray's Samhain pipes

Like Rattray's Beltane's Fire series, the Samhain line celebrates one of the four Gaelic seasonal festivals, specifically the one marking the end of the harvest and the beginning of winter: Samhain (pronounced "sah-win") or, as it's most colloquially known, Halloween. The festival falls on November 1st but the celebration traditionally begins on the night of October 31st, falling halfway between the autumn equinox and the winter solstice, and as with Beltane, bonfires are common during Samhain. For this commemorative Halloween line, the Scottish marque presents pipes in an extra-dark sandblast contrasted by a metallic accent band and an acrylic stem of intermingling black and scarlet hues that match the smooth-polished rim for a deep, smoldering motif.

Neerup Harvest Moon 2024 pipes

The Harvest Moon is a full, bright orange-hued moon that appears nearest to the Autumn equinox. Tatuaje Monster Smash Sampler

In 2008, Pete Johnson embarked on a project that has, in many ways, defined Tatuaje for over a decade since the Monster series, and it quickly became one of the most highly anticipated annual releases in the industry. In that span, Tatuaje released 13 limited-edition cigars around Halloween, all inspired by iconic characters within the horror genre. 2020 marked the end of the original Monster series, with the last of the intended 13 cigars finally released.

In 2021, Tatuaje released the Monster Mash, a collection of every single Monster blend released until that point, rolled in shorter vitolas than they debuted in and joined by The Creature: a new blend for the line. For 2024, Tatuaje has compiled the entire Monster series into a new sampler called the Monster Smash, a collection of all 14 cigars in a singular 5.25" x 52 box-pressed Robusto Extra vitola. Each blend is faithful to its initial release, utilizing the same combinations of tobacco, and the sampler is limited to 13,000 total boxes, with each cigar rolled by My Father Cigars S.A. in Nicaragua.

Dapper La Madrina Lonsdale Smokingpipes Cigars

One of Dapper's strongest, most full-bodied cigars, the La Madrina means "the godmother" in Spanish and references Yolanda Garfias Woo. Known affectionately as "La Madrina," Yolanda is an artist and educator in San Francisco who was instrumental in spreading awareness throughout California about the Mexican holiday Día de los Muertos, and the cigar honors the Day of the Dead festival with a macabre skeleton-hand-holding-rose icon marking the box and band. The cigar boasts a filler blend that combines leaf from Oliva's farms in Nicaragua with Habano '92 tobacco from the Dominican Republic and Pennsylvania Broadleaf from the USA. Encasing this tri-country combo are a Mexican San Andrés binder and a wrapper from Oliva's La Luchita farm in Ecuador. Hand-rolled at Raul Disla's NACSA factory in Estelí, Nicaragua, this cigar is defined by intense notes of chocolate mixed with earth and sweetness, as well as hints of fruit in the retrohale. The Lonsdale is offered in a previously unreleased size (6.5" x 46). Dapper's La Madrina Lonsdale is available exclusively at Smokingpipes. Unlike other La Madrina releases, the La Madrina Lonsdale has been aged for more than a year, lending it a singular profile distinct from the series' core lineup.

Larry Blackett Monster Tampers

Larry Blackett of Buttons for Your Britches tampers has always had a strong mechanical aptitude. As a sixth-generation building contractor, he's excelled in numerous industries, from metallurgy, casting, and jewelry making to establishing his own building company and crafting period-correct uniforms and tents for war reenactments. He was also a longtime pipe smoker, and his foray into crafting tampers grew from his hobby of fashioning pewter buttons for reenactors. With reenactments paused during the COVID-19 crisis, Larry leveraged his pewter expertise and transitioned into making unique pipe tampers of the highest quality.
