This version of the blend is so much better than the ribbon. Which goes without saying because the stuff got to merry and develop. I like both versions, but this one is robust in strength of N and flavor. My tin was slightly aged, so the tin note was intense. Strong notes of fig and fruits for me, as well as the undertone of warm burley. Flavor is everything you like about HB but in 4k. The cake is easy to crumble and dry to your liking. Burns so much better for me than the ribbon. My ribbon is several years old but that age didnt matter much I think compared to the cake. This is worth a try and a place in your cellar....Read More

This cake is an amazing combination of leaves that have really come together to be more than they were before. Much stronger fig/plum notes from the perique than the ribbon, and the burley, while still bringing the big nic kick, has mellowed out from the sweetness of the virginia. I sit here working on sipping this blend thinking there is soo much complexity thru the beginning of starting a fresh bowl and working through the process seeing how this blend evolves throughout finishing the bowl is genuinely other-worldly I am new to smoking pipes but do appreciate full flavored aged tobaccos I can say this blend does not disappoint I'm still trying to figure out this perique "thing" and i like what it adds to these Virginia's and Burley profiles. 10/10 would recommend!...Read More

First time I tried this blend i was fairly new to the pipe tobacco game. It was entirely too strong for my liking at the time and I jarred it and put it up for months. I kept seeing everyone say how good it was and I kept wondering if it was just me. Finally broke it out again and packed a pipe and smoked it. Now that I knew what I was doing more and didn't think you had to puff hard and get big clouds of smoke, the blend was amazingly different. Still a strong smoke, but when dipped you get this great straight clean tobacco taste with strong hints of pepper. Wouldn't smoke it all day still, but its a really good occasional blend....Read More
