Known as "Bronze" here in the UK, the trick with most Borkum Riff tobaccos and certainly with this is to take your time. Youll get a nasty bite on your tongue if you go at it too quick. I smoked this back when Swedish Match made it. This the Rum flavor, cognac, and champagne flavors. The cognac was my favorite. I don't know what the heck this garbage is now ?? The old blends had quality Virginia and burley in them. This stuff I have for no words.

A fairly decent blend, a little on the dry side, smokes faster, so sip gently. Flavor is good, however, you can get a bit of tongue bit if you smoke too fast. I really don’t see the problem with this tobacco. It’s practically a Virginia blend with a bit of spicy Black Cavendish. It’s closer to Amphora and Sail than Captain Black to me. It has a nice tangy, dark fruit flavor going on with a touch of spice.

Excellent all day smoke, this blend pairs exceedingly well with a nice glass of Sweet iced tea. The smoky taste from the barrel aged bourbon whiskey combines delightfully with the citrusy sweetness found in your Virginia tobacco. This is a phenomenal smoke I find myself reaching for it quite often. This blend is not wet or goopy. Nor does it have a chemically smell. I cracked the jar I had this cellaring in, for 2/3 years now, and discovered that it was not as bad as I remembered. I have no local tobacconist to me, so I got it from the local Cigarette and Cigar Outlet when I was attempting to find an enjoyable OTC Pipe Tobac. It has definitely mellowed with age: not as unpleasantly tangy as I remembered…and instead of the smoke always smelling like a dead cigarette butt, now only the unlit bowl smells like a dead cigarette butt. I suspect that that is the Virginia’s fault…BUT the more I smoked of this one bowl, the less I enjoyed it, and the more unpleasant it became. I dumped the bottom of the bowl. I laughed out loud reading the most approved reviews: they are all so right! I am just adding mine because it’s now 2022 and not 2017! I am NOT a tobac snob, Captian Black White is a fantastic smoke, Lane 1-Q is delightful and Sutliff Medium English gives me serious Frog Morton vibes (I literally still have some FM) but the guys who think this is a Five Star smoke, I cry a single tear for you! Of all the various different blends of pipe tobacco I've tasted, this one is the worst. I can't even get myself to give it one star. The smoke smells like bad cigarettes, burns my nostrils, cannot retrohale it, Tongue bite Through all of it in the garbage.
