Bu Bu But I Hate English Blends.

Full disclosure: I hate English blends. But this is YUMMY. Full bodied smoke. Good mouth feel. Nice smell. The first thing I noticed is that it tastes a lot like Drew Estates Deadwood cigar series. Has a nice campfire taste. No ash taste. No aftertaste. A slight floral thing going on. SLIGHT. Tobacco seems dry, but could be old stock at my brick and mortar store. Just bought 4 ounces from Smoking Pipes. Lastly, this has a bit of sweetness to it. Hard to explain. Can taste it all through my mouth. Kind of tastes/feels like the sweetener that is placed on the tip of sweetened cigars. And last but not least, NO TONGUE BITE....Read More

Quite simply one of the best, if not the best, English blends I've had. For me it's far better than the much-vaunted Nightcap, for example. This one does everything - smoke, sour and sweet. It's got the right mix of strong latakia presence, supported perfectly by the base of virginia and tang of the oriental. The fact that something this good is available in bulk at a lower price than some of the supposed premium English blends is quite amazing and a huge bonus. I ordered this based on the exceptional reviews. Huge disappointment. I'm still fairly new to the hobby, but I've tried a few dozen tobaccos, including a decent amount of English/Balkan blends. This is the first I didn't enjoy, and only the second blend (of any kind) that I didn't want to finish the bowl. Honestly, it was a terrible taste. Very unpleasant....Read More

Wanted to like it and perhaps it was just the Peterson's Dracula I was using, required frequent relights and smoked hot, flavor similar to Nightcap but maybe slightly less cigarette, still pretty disappointed; change of pipe proved a much better smoke, very enjoyable mild English, smooth enough for all day, but rich enough for one off....Read More

I’m giving this one another review. After having been on a balkan kick, this one goes near the top of my list of English blends, because the orientals are so forward. There’s something special here, something sweet and buttery, not altogether characteristic of most oriental/balkan blends I’ve had lately.
