al's may be offended.
This blend doesn't care about you.
It's not going to hug you if you cry.
This is artistry.
Bold Perique forward, yet all the subtle nuances of the blend come through.

y notes from the orientals. It’s incredibly well balanced in such a way that while each draw I know I’ll get smoky and spicy, but I also get hints of so much more that evolve slowly throughout the smoke. A full flavored smoke with plenty of nicotine. I’d highly recommend trying out a bit if you’re interested. They also sell 2 oz tins along with bulk too....Read More
This one seems deserving of a higher rating than its current 3.4★...

s to when I post my review? Because this would be a pleasant substitution for anything I could compare it to and "is this VA and Burley? Nope." I thought of many blends while trying to make those connections. Now I see it is; Latakia, Perique, Virginias, Turkish, and Burleys. Therein lies the "complexity"...I suppose. Other thoughts I had; "this is a nice-tasty blend I could smoke when wanting to give my tongue a break, yet remains full of flavor/s." I see it is rated 4 of 5 on strength. But that seems a bit high. I do not believe this rating is accurate...for it's nic-level seems to deserve a lower rate. And I've had stronger nic-reactions to other 4 of 5 rated blends. So, I do recommend trying this, spend some time and give it a chance in multiple pipes. And just see if enjoy all it gives you. Which it does plenty of...throughout the bowl (top-to-bottom). This is becoming one of my favorites, in most pipes, but it doesn't work in all pipes. It is mechanically easy to smoke, and its taste lasts throughout the bowl. I just started working on some C&D Mountain Camp, Engine #99, and Haunted Bookshop. Mountain Camp will be receiving a high mark and will soon be reordered in bulk. But Haunted Bookshop and Engine #99 fell a bit short for me, and are just plain and underwhelming. Only good for maybe giving the tongue a break. So I will not yet rate those two....Read More

misbalancing the blend. Red Virginia provides its usual dark overtones but not much of sweetness. Burley provides usual nuttiness as well as typical harshness. Virginias smooth it down a bit but not completely. Latakia tastes as a tiny bit of smokiness somewhere very far on background. And I could barely taste Orientals at all.
I found the blend to be very pipe dependent. I didn’t like it in Meerschaum pipes at all. Thin walled briar pipes were an improvement. Thick walled large briar pipes provided best results. Personally, I enjoyed it the most in Peterson House pipe.
Altogether, I found this blend to be very interesting and unusual but not really to my liking. I finished the tin without regrets but doubt that I will order it again....Read More

I purchased the bulk not tinned. It came mostly dry. It took a light easily but burned hot. This blend is slightly harsh but has some nuttiness and some sweet and sour. It is very spicy. I can smoke Peterson Nightcap every day and it’s delicious but this is a tough blend.

e is delicious, but a bit to spicy for my preference. It's also higher in nicotine. Kind of a "no, duh" but I wasn't prepared for it. If you are a Perique lover and enjoy english style blends I would highly recommend it. I would also only recommend it for somewhat experienced pipe smokers. If you're new to the craft, hold off on this one and work your way to it after you get yourself tuned in some....Read More
Harsh w/out the flavor

I find this one to be harsh w/out the flavor to make up for it. Even blending it with milder tobaccos, it’s still the only one out of all I’ve tried that burns my tongue.
