2 is a little sweeter. Neither have any bite. To me they are the ideal burley blends that I find myself reaching for most often now that I’ve discovered them. My Peterson 264 seems to bring out the flavor best. C&D has proven to be one of my favorite blenders. Thank you for this series....Read More

smoked just okay in my favorite VABur pipe the Clark's favorite. But tasted better in an unfiltered Peterson 124. I guess the narrow conical bowl did better in concentrating flavor. it's definitely strong in nicotine. In terms of flavor I find that to be so personal I read the other reviews here and honestly I think we were smoking two different blends. It's not unpleasant just rough and I think there are much better VABUR dfk blends out there. I think it could do better with some more time maybe even a year or two in the jar. Wessex Burley Slices = similar profile but way smoother.
Since reading this review I've come across other reviewers commenting on Cornell and Sheila blends being tinned without any aging of the tobacco prior so others seem to have found these blends rough as well. I guess that's their style. That means that this stuff needs to be aged to compete with some of the better blends out there....Read More

plex, bold, and immensely satisfying.
The Dark Fired Kentucky is the undeniable star of the show, bringing strong notes of incense, barbecue, and wood that dominate the profile in the best way. The Virginias are present, but not attention seeking, they’re there just to smooth out any rough edges, with no grassy, hay-like, or citrusy qualities. Occasionally, a subtle sweetness peeks through, but it never distracts from the hearty, smoky core. The flavor remains impressively consistent from the first light to the bottom of the bowl.
I originally stumbled upon this blend while searching for a replacement for Old Dark Fired and Bold Kentucky. Not only does it meet the mark, but it actually surpasses them in my book. With its strong nicotine kick and well-balanced flavor profile, this is the definitive Burley/Dark Fired blend I’ve been looking for.
This discovery has sparked a new enthusiasm in me to explore more from Cornell & Diehl, venturing into other categories with excitement. But when it comes to Burley and Dark Fired, the search is over, I’ve found the best....Read More

This simple blend is excellent - good strength and flavor. If you're a Burley fan, you owe it to yourself to try this. It is, in my opinion, the best of the series. It will always be a staple in my rotation along with Pegasus and Briar Fox.

et deeper. And a bit of leather and wine is there also. The coco flavors also get more pronounced sometimes. There is just enough Virginia to add some sweetness. If you like burley, give this a try....Read More
