About This Pipe Tobacco

A very strong, but very cool smoke is the result of combining in equal proportions only Malawi Dark Fired Leaf and Indian dark air-cured leaf. No additional flavors. You can smell in this tobacco the Smokey flavor of the dark fired leaf derived from its curing process of being hung above smoky fires, and the sweeter, yet still strong 'cigar type' flavor of the dark-air-cured Indian leaf.

I have been smoking pipes for more than 50 years. As everyone drifting from aromatic mixtures to solid oriental flakes. It seems that I tasted “everything”. The number of different tins I passed by would be more than 100.

But this flake is exceptional. Robust, favorable but at the same time not biting at all. I can refill my Dunhill over and over again. Puff the whole day.

If so....this will do it; it'll put some hair on your chest. I initially thought perhaps this is just a "sliced version" of Dark Plug. But it is noticeably stronger and is a bit more tasty than their Dark Plug. I also have Dark Flake Aromatic and finally got around to ordering some of this to try without the "dressing" of their "DF-Aromatic". And DF Unscented truly delivers; loads of flavor, bold strength, surprisingly smooth, and nicotine for days. So, despite all of its strength, just know that gentle puffing/sipping will help control the nic'cups. And expect your saliva glands to kick into high gear. This is just a "first few bowls" review and it is quite good. It's so rich and tasty that at times it felt like having a wad of it in my mouth being chewed on. All in all, it is a very enjoyable experience. So it deserves a "Good" (4.0) rating at the very least. I'm going to need more of this...much much more....Read More

There is a distinct Lakeland casing on this tobacco. I can't get past it. Sometimes it lessens as a bowl burns down but I find it to be foul, astringent and insurmountable. I'll hang on to what I have left in the event that I can give it away to someone who likes perfumy tobacco but it is not for me. I've tried to like G&H tobaccos but I'm not a fan and will not bother buying another of their products....Read More
