A very strong, but very cool smoke is the result of combining in equal proportions only Malawi Dark Fired Leaf and Indian dark air-cured leaf. After maturing through processing and stoving, Gawith Hoggarth applies the traditional British flavors of licorice, maple and tonquin bean.

After attempting to smoke 2-3 bowls of this tobacco over a two year period while cellaring this tobacco, I find it doesn't get better with age. I find it to be extremely bitter/burning cardboard taste that also bites aggressively 😬! I hope others have better luck with it than I did!

Way stronger than I ever imagined. I didn't taste licorice or any real flavors. It's probably made for people with a much more developed taste than I have. Super nicotine hit though. I think I'll jar it and wait a few years.

ong, with notes of Licorice, Maple and Tonquin. Maple was the first to wain and disappear somewhat quickly. The Licorice was strong in the beginning but dropped the background in the 1st 1/3. The Tonquin Bean was present the whole time and never seemed to diminish. It wasn't as pronounced in the beginning until the other flavors died down a bit. Taste is full and mostly consistent, with notes of licorice, floral, maple, salty like vegetation, spicy, leather, dry bitter wood, spices, fermented tart/sourness, orange peel/zest, cocoa, cigar, tangy sweet citrus, toast, a Tonquin background note, and a peppery retro.
