HU: Night Owl 100g Pipe Tobacco

Purchased/Arrived in late April with a March tin date. Vacuum-sealed tin so immediately split into 2 50g jars and let it sit for 30 days. Burley-forward, VA and perique supporting. Earthy, musty, little spicy, great retrohale. If you love Haunted Bookshop you will love this as well. Where HB has a more woody taste, NO has a more boggy taste, it's hard to describe but it's wonderful. Gonna get a few more tins and go through it slowly. NOT A FLAKE!!!

I'll adjust my review after smoking a bowl or 3, but I specifically picked this as it was listed as a flake cut, hence the low review.

It's most certainly NOT a flake cut. I just opened the tin to find a ready rubbed blend packed in the tin.

This is Old Joe dressed to the nines. This is a fancy Old Joe. Utterly amazing blend.

It's been a while since I smoked a blend like this. When I think of a tobacco to smoke this hit the spot. It taste is wonderful. A blend that has earthy tones, spice notes, and smoke like a cool breeze. This is a relaxing blend where you can slow down and solve the problems of the world or just drift off into thoughts. This is my second HU blend I’ve tried now, the first being Khoisaan, and I’m gonna say it again WOW! These are exceptional tobaccos and I’m absolutely loving them! The tin note of Night Owl is so delicious and definitely reminds me of some of my favorite va/pers, Navy flakes, and burley blends, but again there is something very unique coming through as well! The presentation is also amazing and the tobacco feels so fresh, it’s hard to not want to eat it, haha. It’s definitely a lil moist, you might want to dry it a bit, but I packed a few bowls right from the tin and they burned great and cool with hardly any relights! I’m not great at picking out all the subtle flavors but I feel like it kind of reminds me a bit of Redburn, Sixpence, a lil Salty Dogs, and some of my favorite Navy flakes! You get the flavor wanted from every component and a superb complexity from the blend. Praise not easily given
