So far every smoke with this blend is almost always the same. And I mean that in the best way! The burley and Virginia share the stage together well, and you can really taste that perique on the retrohale. I probably won't smoke much of anything else until I finish off what I have opened now. Very well balanced and delicious. Any burley lover will be pleased, and anyone thinking of getting into burley will likely do well to wet their tongue with this blend. A flavorful and interesting VaBurPer blend from HU. Chocolatey, nutty burley and probably a light chocolate topping along with smooth virginia, and perique. Smooth, and really flavorful. Another winner from HU. In the US, we have chocolate breakfast cereal, and the chocolate in Makhuwa reminds me of cocoa pebbles’ flavor. I guess you could call it more of a light chocolate. Quite a nice surprise. I saw Perique on this and was hesitant, because so far, most of the vendors that I've tried that have Perique on them just plain over do it and ruin the tobacco. For some reason all the HU products seem to know how to do Perique right or they at least have a special Perique, not sure, but this was just right. Just a fun Burley/Virginia that wasn't overwhelmed with the Perique. It had a hint of cocoa that just kept popping throughout the bowl giving it a enjoyable spicy, chocolatey, smoky, Burley that kept making me say "yum" during the smoke. Its not an everyday smoke, but its certainly a nice change of pace in a Burley rotation. Careful of the nic though, it caught me off guard. Update: 30 Jan 2025 - I think this is an everyday smoke contrary to my original post. The more I smoke it the more I love it as my "go to" Burley for the day. All my other Burley's are on the shelf wonder when its going to be their turn to be smoked :)...Read More

The first few smokes couldn't taste anything but the cocoa topping, then the topping subsided to the background, and I felt those "Earthly, chocolatey" notes that people describe when talking about Burley. So far I'm enjoying it, it provides a nice break from traditional vapers and english tobaccos that I smoke. Tends to bite, be it dry or wet, so sip slowly. Surprisingly it is my first tobacco that doesn't gurgle at all It would be unfair if I rated it below 5 because I don't know how it compares to other Burley blends....Read More
