This is a Burley you can count on. It's always there in a pinch (get it?). Its flavor is mellow, it's traditionally American in style, and it's consistently strong. Like Dad's old truck, it's not exciting but it does the job every time.

Burley Cut Ribbon

really liked it. Smells from the bag made me think of dusty old barns, walnut oil stain and the smell of tea bags.
Sampled in a MM Missouri Pride and a Peterson 307.
This is a good burley - I like it much better than the white burley for example. This is warm and nutty and is like a big warm walnut muffin in a pipe. Makes big attention getting clouds, too .
It's a solid smoker, and I could see someone who is a codger blend fan enjoying having a 5 lb. bag of this in the closet. The main takeaway is that nutty sweetness - it's not Virginia high sugar sweet - but its own kind of sweet and nutty and warm and just damn good.
I packed a massive bowl in an estate 307 Peterson I have, and it paid off in spades. Raisin, cardamon, pecan - it's the walnut muffin, expanded and improved. This one likes a lot of room.
As far as blending tobaccos go, this one I place in the same category as the Red VA cavendish - it's solid on its own.

Good old Burley. Nutty, toasty and woodsy. Not as tasty in my opinion as C&D's bulk Cube Cut or Dark Burley. Its mild in flavor compared to those two. However it is far less of a face bunch than Cube Cut. That $#%& is strong!
