leaf, yeah. If you push it the fangs come out. Nice Burley bite, if you're into that sort of thing.
I'm looking forward to mixing this but truly, this was a great bowl of quality tobacco. Don't hesitate to smoke it straight. It's a bit more bold than the regular ribbon cut, just as smooth, just a little kicked up.

ce I can’t quite place. Anyone who’s tasted many of the burley-based C&D blends like Old Joe Krantz or Haunted Bookshop, will immediately recognize this Dark Burley profile within them. It’s STRONG in body – almost too strong to smoke by itself, and will tingle your nose on the retro. This is one for mixes/blends. While many may look at this and wonder, “Is this a stronger version of Prince Albert?” No, it’s not. It just doesn’t possess the nuance that unfermented burley offers, it’s strictly to add body and smoothness to a mixture/blend. On it's own, it's an above average leaf, but in it's element within mixtures, this can take harsh and light bodied blends to another level. Nicotine is just on the stronger side of medium. Read Less

lory in this leaf, but there is far more pepper here than anything else.
It is fine blended - given a month to sit in a tin with some Virginia, the flavor becomes far more evident - it’s truly delicious - but the strength of the pepper persists. I ended up giving the majorly of the two ounces I purchased away to an older man in a care home who normally smokes sniped cigarettes, and he fell in love with it, though in hindsight I could have found my own good uses for it. Maybe it was just the batch I received - fermented indeed, there was a significant amount of bloom on the leaf, and I think if I’d sat on it much longer it might have turned into actual Perique (that was a joke). But in all fairness, mellow seems to be subjective. This stuff might actually set your face on fire. I’ll stick with tins and avoid bulk from now on, at least while I still have my own teeth! Great flavor.I smoke in the morning,or after dinner.No multiple flavor layers here.Filling the pipe is easy with this,as is lighting and smoking.Strong,but smooth.Not harsh on the mouth.I mixed mine with "Big N Burley in a Ball jar.Recommended

rt of dry character...moisture level is good right out of the bag but the mouth feel is dry. Clouds of rich smoke. Essy yo get going with an average fill and pack and easy to keep lit. I like smoking it straight as it seems to have zero additives. I'm certain it's a good blender if body and strength is what you're after. Likely a good mixer with straight Virginia of another sweet tobacco. I'll go through this quarter pound and occasionally add it to whatever I'm smoking just for fun. If you enjoy a good high strength unblended Burley this one is a fine choice. This is my second review on it and it's about the same as my first. Read Less

cut, a big pinch of this and a small pinch of Yorktown. That morphed into two big pinches of Ribbon Cut, one big pinch of this and a small pinch of Yorktown. The result was what I’ve been smoking for the last couple of weeks. It has good Burley strength with some Burley sweetness and the added flavor and sweetness of a little Virginia. I didn’t quantify beyond what I’ve mentioned...a pinch of this and a pinch of that but it may be an adequate starting point for a homestyle blend adjusted to your personal taste. The parts blended well and after sitting for a couple of days in a 4 ounce canning jar the blend had smoothed out well enough to be a nice smoke. I like it as is but it’s got some serious Burley muscle and for my taste it’s best used as a blender. Read Less
