Perfect leaf for Spring

Product: Cornell & Diehl Izmir Turkish Bulk
Floral. I don't know how to describe it other than: "It tastes like Spring." A beautifully subtle richness (if that makes sense?) and earthiness. There's a little bit of a spicy kick that hits midbowl, especially towards the lower third of the bowl. Definitely light in nicotine, but as the description says, it's rich in flavour. Love it!...Read More

Izmir Turkish
Smoking pipes rated 4.5

Here we have another blending tobacco - this time Turkish. The bag of Oriental leaf had a kind of a brandy smell. You know that crossroads between sugar and vinegar and raisin bread? To me that’s what Turkish smell
s like and it smells delicious. Sampled in a Missouri pride.

I love Turkish tobacco. To me , “good” Turkish tobacco has a sourness to it. That should barely but still eclipse the spice or even the trademark stronger fragrance and this is a nice sour and tangy herbal blend. The room note is pure “sun cured Tobacco Barn”

It actually tastes wonderful.

It is warm, it is sweet, it is sour, it is fragrant, it is just solid oriental tobacco. I think it would be fun to take this and make some type of plug and compress real tight and get like an almost hash bar of Turkish tobacco.

OK, if I’m being honest, I like this about equal as I do the Samuel Gawith Turkish that they released last year but I would much prefer Robert McConnell oriental over both of those. I realize that’s not being fair because two were blending tobacco and one is not, but I wouldn’t buy this if I had McConnell in my Reserves.

Is absolutely a great component and it could be a daily driver for someone who enjoys Turkish like I do. Also think it would be useful for a roll your own tobacco.

Not just for blending.

Spicy, leathery and sweet. What more do you want form a tobacco? I'm not too crazy about C&D blends but this is a hidden gem. In the retrohale, I get intense perfumy black pepper and a sweet note similar to the one I find in connecticut shade cigars.

I think we need to see more Orientals ble
nds especially in flakes. The Izmer and Basma varieties from Lebanon and Syria and Palestine are the best. Turkey and Cyprus are also up there....Read More

Exhibit the iconic salty milk tea flavor of Orientals. Good to smoke on itself, burns dry and alkaline. Pair with Virginia to balance the alkalinity. Wonderful blending material.
