About This Pipe Tobacco
High grade Old Belt golden Virginias. Sweet, with just a hint of citrus, because of a naturally high sugar content and relatively low presence of oil, this bright leaf makes both a fine companion to a Burley and a dandy smoke all its own.

Nice pronounced flavor, burns hots but doesn’t bite. Has a nice sweetness to it without coming off like an aromatic. Packs tight and is easy to handle. Great recommendation for a beginner.

Bright Virginia Ribbon

elled like walking into one of our curing barns - specifically like a Long brand bulk barn, and its symphony of scents including dust, cardboard, dried grass and wood that’s been baked by curing cycles for 20 years.
It’s a comforting smell. On aroma alone, this was beautiful.
Being a blending tobacco it is to a degree pretty singular, but that’s not to say without depth. It’s sweet , but it doesn’t also have the tang I love with leaf taken higher up the stalk. To be honest it is kinda boring to me - I love Virginias - but more so reds , orange - but lemon and bright leaf have a place and this sample was quality leaf. Good on the farmer for the cultivation and curing.
It’s a good reference smoke and I do think everyone should at some point buy small samples of blending materials to sample independently to get a taste and feel for them.
It’s Virginia - it’s got high sugar and can get hot. For a rapid smoker like me this is where I have to mentally remind myself of pace and cadence.
I do t get the hay, but there is a vegetal quality to it. I just wish it had a little more pizzazz or “oomph”.
This is a blend that suffers on my rating because I don’t see a need to bulk purchase and cellar it. While I have played with making my own blends, I order the components as needed, usually in quantity to a ratio I’ve already call, thus no extra left over nor need to age indefinitely.
As a blend in its face , I’d give it a 4.

This is mny favorite pipe tobacco. I smoke it straight. I simply prefer the taste of this virginia with nothing else muddying it up.
