About This Pipe Tobacco

The Per Jensen Legacy Collection presents four distinctive Danish-American pipe tobacco blends, inspired by the life, legacy, and personal smoking preferences of Per's father, Per Georg Jensen, a Danish Navy veteran who left a lasting mark on the pipe community. Each blend is carefully crafted by Cornell & Diehl under the guidance of Per G. Jensen.

Brothers in Arms is a rich, full-bodied blend of Dark-Fired Kentucky, Perique, Turkish, Burley, and Red Virginias, layered with decadent notes of cocoa and smoky spice.

I have been part of the Pipe smoking community for 3 years now and have been trying many blends. Jumping at the small batches that have come out with rave reviews only to be disappointed. I can say now with confidence I have found my happy place with Brothers in arms. This blend has everything I have wanted from pipe Tobacco. Cocoa and nutty flavors with little to no tongue bite. I alternate between Brothers in Arms and Harbor Dreams in evening rotation. Also, great for blending!

So i was a huge fan of the Per Jensen blends from Sutliff, and i was quite sad to see them go. Shortly after i heard a rumor that Per would be introducing a new line of tobaccos and the wait began. Well, it was worth the wait! Brothers in Arms has surpassed my expectations in every way. The tin note is dark spicy tobacco. Typical ribbon cut. The tin notes are of smoke and cocoa. Could do with some drying. Requires relights out of the tin. Prodigious, meaty smoke. Underlying sweetness from the Virginias, with delicious, smoky, dark fired dominating heavily. Slight spice from the perique. Cocoa, as advertised by the scent. The burley and orientals made themselves known, subtly, on the second and even more, the third bowl after opening the tin. The equal of JackKnife, a favorite dark fired blend. I do still prefer the plug and ready-rubbed to the ribbon here. Strength is a 4, as is flavor. Not for the new smoker, or the nic-sensitive.
