Named and blended for Smokingpipes' brick-and-mortar store Low Country Pipe and Cigar in Little River, South Carolina, Low Country pipe tobaccos are all crafted by Cornell & Diehl — also located in South Carolina. They're blended to be classic, easy-smoking mixtures, honoring South Carolina's historic Lowcountry and named for some of the region's iconic rivers.
Honoring the Great Pee Dee River, Pee Dee is a ready-rubed mixture and Low Country's first Burley blend, featuring heirloom Dark and White Burley, St. James Parish Perique, and matured Red and Bright Virginia tobaccos. A rich, flavorful smoke, Pee Dee offers the depth and vigor of its namesake.

The perique provides a funk that smooths it all out. No scratchiness from the burley here. Surprisingly slow burning, as it feels a bit dry out of the tin. If I had to summarize, I would say it’s like a red virginia perique blend with a strong hit of natural, nutty cocoa. It’s hard to describe this one. The only way I can think of is it’s a more robust briar fox. If briar fox was coffee with cream this is black coffee. I do enjoy it but I wouldn’t think of it as an all day smoke, More of an after dinner smoke.

Bottom of the bowl had burly take over with fruits tempering the burly spice and heavy presence with a touch of sweetness.
The bowl finished with some woodsy notes and a sharp pepper in the nose.
A rare find that is easy to come by.
Highly recommend to all Enthusiasts and newcomers wanting to sample a great version of a burly blend.
