I didn't like this blend all that much at first. I was looking for more of a dark fired or tangy Virginia. This is much mellower but in really great ways. It must be the burley in the blend. It's highly smokable, consistent, tobacco flavors. Doesn't coat your mouth the way some virginia blends do. Not cloying in any way. The topping, if there is one, I'm doubtful, is incredibly subtle. Yes, after trying over 100 different pipe tobaccos of more than 15 brands, I finally found the one which I am not just able, but also willing to smoke on a daily basis.
It is rich, tasty, strong enough, but not overwhelming for all day everyday smoking, it packs and burns easily, cool and dry, it is also complex enough and has some development not to get bored, and it's not cloying as some fancy stuff. It is just great!
Who might think that simple combination of Burley and Virginia could bring such great result? Well, maybe it's not that simple, because similar mixtures don't give similar outcomes for me. It's more on Burley side, but not really much Burley prevailing like Old Joe Kranz for example (including its Blue version).
Highly advisible for all pipesmokers. To me it's just classics of tobacco. I'm sure that this tobacco can find decent place on anyone's shelf, even if not accepted as the daily one....Read More

Tin note of sugared plums and spices. Tobacco is a plug of marbled dark brown, brown and a little tan. Moisture content is great, recommend using a sharp thin knife or razor to slice plug and rubs out with a little effort. Burns slow with a few extra relights. The strength is medium and nic is medium. Flavoring is mild, with notes of dark fruit/plums. Flavoring seems to come from a casing as it doesn't really go away but remains in the background. Taste is medium to full and very consistent, with notes of tangy sweet dark dried fruit, floral, fermented peaty vegetation, wood, mild citrus, creamy, spices, bread, sugar, nuts, earthy, savory, bitter orange peel, a sweet grassy background note, and a peppery retro. Virginia is leading with Burley and Flavoring supporting. Room note is pleasant to tolerable, and aftertaste is great....Read More

Still trying to figure this one out. It's a bit hard to process into smokable form. Either it's beef jerky or it's fruit leather. Either way, it smokes wet and when the gurgle sits in the bowl it makes the rest of it bitter. No matter how long I leave it out to dry (up to six hours), it starts out awesome but then turns muddy and bitter. Once I figure out how to dry it a bit better it will be a near-perfect burley blend. … I don’t know and I will say this is the only plug tobacco I’ve ever tried. That being said, this stuff was great while it lasted. I smoked this at the same time as was smoking C&D’s Five O’clock Shadow but let me tell you, this stuff was great. I had been given this tobacco around the same time I had been given a bag of really strong Guatemalan coffee beans. Both the Coffee and the Plug are now gone, but while they lasted, they gave me some of the most sublime smokes I’ve ever had in my 12 years of dabbling with pipes. I smoked it in two different small Stanwell pipes. Both just under 5 inches in length with shorter chambers, about 3/4 of an inch in diameter....Read More
