Classic Fragrance and Taste
January 04, 2025
Product: Peter Stokkebye PS41 Cube Cut Bulk
This is a classic pipe tobacco flavor profile that smokes cool. Both full bodied in flavor and smoke. The nicotine level is medium. Nutty, cocoa, brown sugar, and bread pastry flavors all the way through. At a slow pace this blend will encourage introspection and tranquility.

like others have said, it's got a lot in common with the codger blends, but it's a lot better in my opinion. the cubes are somewhat drier than expected, but it's not an issue. burns and stays lit well and tastes good.
Not Yet Ready For Prime-Time...

Product: Peter Stokkebye PS41 Cube Cut Bulk
When I ordered this, my 4oz, I thought it was 100% Burley; for being a cube cut (what was I thinking). When it arrived, and I transferred it into a jar, I scooped out a bowl and lit it. At the forefront, predominantly, there was Virginia flavors...and "not yet ready for prime-time" VA. I recalled "thinking isn't this Burley?," and went and looked again, and saw it is VA & Burley; but listed as "Family: Burley." Anyhow, for it only being 4oz, I replaced the sealing lid with foil and in to the oven it went (190°F for two-plus hours); to mellow the "not yet ready" VA. I will *update* this review after waiting two plus weeks before I light another bowl of it. For now, I give it a 4★ rating; in keeping with the average you all have given it. Other than all of this, it seems it could be a favorable smoke. If the adolescent VA would just mature already! *Update*; OK, opened up the jar I ran through the stove and it's just not a blend I would likely keep "on hand." So I dropped my previous 4★ rating to 3.5★. I still have some of this in another jar, that wasn't "cooked" in the stove, and I will give it all some time. But don't expect another update for at least one year from now....maybe more....Read More
Delicious old school American burley

Product: Peter Stokkebye PS41 Cube Cut Bulk
For when you want to relax with the likes of Carter Hall, Prince Albert, or Edgeworth Ready Rubbed and you have extra time on your hands, this is perfect. Burns forever, never gets too hot or bites and has that delicious molasses cocoa flavor all the way through. This is unusual for me, but the pouch note on this was underwhelming, but it smokes so well!...Read More
Little dry but mild

Product: Peter Stokkebye PS41 Cube Cut Bulk
First cube cut I've ever tried. Very mild, OK for first pipe of the day. Easy to pack, but because it was dry, it burned a little quicker than I thought it should...it was almost as though I let it dry for 4 hours before loading the bowl. I'm assuming this was a one off and it should have been a little moister....Read More

This is really smooth smoke, I have tried C&D cube cut and the PS41 is a better blend.
light aromatic tobacco

Product: Peter Stokkebye PS41 Cube Cut Bulk
it is not bad in any sense, just too much casing for me. You can taste the sweet red virginia cavendish flavor but not really the earthy burley. like other light aros this one start out tasting nice but I just cannot bring myself to finish the bowl for its lack of change and depth in flavor...Read More
Disappointed

Product: Peter Stokkebye PS41 Cube Cut Bulk
This blend isn't bad but its an aromatic. Super sweet the tobacco flavor is lost in whatever topping is on this it doesn't taste bad but I don't like aromatic sweetness and definitely not in something labeled as a non aro.
Cube Cut for the win

As so often happens, I bought an oz of this five months ago, had a few smokes out of different pipes and enjoyed it but wasn't particularly blown away by it. Gravity loaded a bowl tonight in the trusty but small Peterson System 314 and dang if it didn't burn for 90 minutes. Nice and smooth, mostly the burley but with enough Virginia to give it a little citrus note. Really a wonderful smoke. The bowl got kind of hot but seemed to cool off quickly. Big clouds of smoke, no real hint of any topping, just a good, honest and tasty bowl of tobacco. I am really growing to love the PS blends! English Luxury, Luxury Bullseye Flake and Natural Dutch Cavendish are three of my other go-to smokes. These are great everyday smokes, never disappointing or fussy, and they always seem to be in stock. Sorry I slept on Stokkebye for so long!...Read More
good to go.

Product: Peter Stokkebye PS41 Cube Cut Bulk
Jar note of molasses, rich earth, and ripe mild dark fruit. The brown cube cut tobacco chunks may need a little cutting on some of the larger pieces. Recommend rubbing out a few chunks to layer on top to help get it lit. Burns slow with many relights. The strength is mild to medium and nic is mild. No flavoring detected. Taste is mild to medium and consistent, with notes of very woody, rich dirt, bitter cocoa, nuts, mild sweet grass, toasted bread, mild tangy fruit, a molasses background note, and a smooth retro. Burley is leading with cavendish supporting. Room note is pleasant, and aftertaste is good....Read More
