About This Pipe Tobacco
For Sweet English, the folks at C&D start with a traditional American Cavendish base of Virginias, Burleys and black Cavendish, add a dash of Latakia, and finish it with a specially formulated flavor mixture of caramel and vanilla.

Notes from the bag are a slight Virginia tang, some burnt sugar and the leathery smell I associate with Latakia.
Dammit man, this is nice. Very soft. The Virginia tang and the sweet topping make a nice sweet and sour balance.
Balance. That’s the word for this blend. The Latakia is just enough to be noticeable and it melds with the sweeter elements in a very pleasing way.
This blend is silky smooth. Again I’m struck with how balanced it is. I think it is misnamed - I wouldn’t call it Sweet English - I’d call it Smooth English. It’s like a decent English, just muted.
It is so easy to smoke. When you see folks say “new pipers should avoid aros and start with an English blend” I think this would be a solid suggestion.
How would a tiny teeny bit of Perique show here ? Probably nice but it’s not needed.
Easily an all day blend.
My rating : 5 - I will be buying a pound of this on my next payday.

My new favorite blend. How can an English be better at being an English and Aromatic at the same time? IDK but they did it folks. Medium strength with a very natural delicious sweetness. Ordering more now.

The first few bowls I liked it, but after smoking my trial ounce I was not a fan. I has a strange sweet cream smell to me and only a slight bit of the good smokey incense of a good English blend. This is a confused blend in my book. Won't buy again.
