Not sure where I want to go with this one. It’s not bad. I’ll get that out up front. Likewise it’s not exactly exciting, either. If anything it kinda felt like London Squire but muted and from 100 feet away.
That’s not to say it’s a turd. The Latakia / Perique magic for that makes that iodine astringency I adore is here - it is just soft as candy floss. It does have a solid leathery aspect , making it a real easy English puff fest.
Where does the “aromatic” in English Aromatic come into play? Room note is nothing aromatic to me - its bog standard English sweat and horse shit campfire - all good things mind you - but if I told my wife this I’d aromatic she’d call for the looney bin to pick me up.
It does light and burn exceptionally well, from first strike to ash, producing a thin gray smoke that’s oily on the palette.the astringency rises and falls at times - don’t know if that’s blend design, or luck of the pull getting an ounce order from a larger batch and maybe it’s just unevenly distributed.
This falls I to the “I’ll wait for a 20% off sale and then grab a half pound” catagory for me.
If you’ve found English blends to be a bit harsh , you could do worse than to try an ounce and see if it fits you.

but dwindles off to let the natural tobacco flavors take the staring role. The Burley and Oriental seem to dominate, teaming up for a consistent nutty, mild tart/sour note. That base is spiced up a notch with smokey note of Latakia, always on stage but way in the back. The perique, which is subtle, adds dark fruit and sweetness. The classic Runowski robust earthy C&D burley flavor is obvious, the topping and blending has it singing a slightly sweeter note than usual. If you're a fan of Bob's Pegasus blend, Haunted Bookshop or OJK, you will find familiar, but much lighter and sweet notes here. Highly recommend....Read More

Its snug; slight spice in between latakia, some nutty elements, Orientals adds a well rounded note. The topping solidifies the blend without adding confusion to the flavor of the blend
