I picked up a tin of this because it sounded interesting, and wow am I glad I did. For aromatics I usually go for the mild variants with a predominant tobacco taste and this isn’t one of those. It’s creamy, nutty with the toppings clearly center stage. Unlike most heavy aros I’ve tried this one doesn’t goop up or smoke hot. While I don’t get the whiskey I do get some herbal tones, clear hazelnut flavoring and a creamy goodness that is just delicious. The room note is amazing and the flavoring consistent throughout the bowl. It’s an easy smoke and new pipe smokers should give this one a try. This aro doesn’t bite back. Easy enough to be an all day smoke. I’m a poor judge of nic levels but I’d consider this a low to medium nicotine strength. The burley nuttiness is the only tobacco notes I can detect. Smoking this is almost like drinking hazelnut flavored cream. Likely not for everyone, but definitely something everyone should try. Little stronger that the 2 indicated, more like a 3, but mild enough for the new or inexperienced smoker.
For the non aromatic lover it's worth a try.
The hazelnut is present from the charing light and present through the entire bowl. I didn't get the cinnamon or honey until the middle of the bowl and then only faintly. The Irish Mist showed up towards the bottom of the bowl.
I found this smoked much better in a billiard than in a dublin (my favorite shape) as the bottom was a little less spicy.
Room note was pleasant according to my wife who is my room note judges my smeller isn't as accurate as some.
Well balanced and none of the different leafs overwhelm the others and a perfect moisture right from the tin (3 months in the tin)...absolutely no bite; my cadence is quicker than most so that's something I'm very concerned about.

Flavors of toasted nuts, spices and honey pair so very well with tobacco, especially on a good burley. C&D is known for their burley. Add to that Jeremy Reeves’ bent towards the culinary arts and you have aromatics with very natural and deep profiles… some even floral such as clover, honey locust and wildflowers. A sweet and flavorful aromatic, Nutty Irishman opens with top notes of heather honey, vanilla, cocoa, coffee and cinnamon, on a base of hazelnut. Halfway through, the honey is smokier, and the hazelnut becomes more assertive. Although the spices are still present, those two dominant flavors, combined with the burley, provide for a consistent creamy, sweet, spiced, nutty and toast-like profile. The whiskey lends a slight sourness from time to time, but it isn't a tanginess or tartness, rather it fits with the burley. The flavors can be assertive at times, but more often than not, they are understated and complementary to the burley. This is exceptionally well-behaved and PH balanced, with absolutely no bite which we often experience with many aromatic offerings. The finish leaves just a lingering sweet hazelnut with residual baking spices but is mostly clean. This is one of those aromatics where the smell transfers to the taste, and in fact, the taste is stronger than the room note. The room note is a mildly sweetened, spiced and herbal. This is a nice light aromatic that isn't offensive to non smokers. You can taste the hazelnut kind of in the middle. To me it seems like the Irish mist drives the bus. It's sweet with a smokey lightly bitter whiskey finish. Sometimes you get an Irish cream taste, occasionally even a cigar note. A complex blend for a Va/burley aromatic. Smokes very cool for me and it likes a slightly tighter pack. It's a quick tobacco . My Peterson 107 was half empty in 20 minutes. All in all a very good aromatic that isn't too sweet , burns cool, and no goop. The only thing I don't like is the cigar note. Remove that and I'd give it four stars....Read More

I’m very surprised by the topping. It’s not goopy at all, especially given how pronounced the flavor is. The tobacco smokes very well. The flavor of the topping is superb, I would like it to be even nuttier.

Ive never been a fan of Aromatics, Until i tried this! Im ordering alot more for sure. The smell and taste is just perfect for myself, keep in mind im a English tobacco lover. Best description is the name of the blend, the name suits it perfectly.
